Autoimmune Disease

Providing realistic and customized support to help take the guesswork out of managing your autoimmune disease

Understanding Autoimmune Disease

When facing an autoimmune diagnosis, it can feel like you’re walking through a fog. If you’ve been overwhelmed by the convoluted information found online, we’re so glad you’re here.

At its core, autoimmune disease occurs when your immune system stops recognizing your own body as safe and starts to attack it. However, anyone who has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease knows it’s far more complicated than that, and getting a proper diagnosis can take years. We suspect that the number of people living with undiagnosed autoimmune disease is even higher than the statistics show, which means if you’ve struggled for years knowing something was wrong but not getting any clear answers, you’re not alone.

Once this immune change starts to impact how tissue or organs function, we see symptoms and blood work values that allow for a diagnosis. The exhaustion of trying to navigate all the information out there can make it feel like there’s no clear direction to go as you try to first get a diagnosis and then care for your health.

Possible Signs & Symptoms of Autoimmune Disease

  • Low-grade fever (between 37.5-38.3 C)

  • Aching muscle pain

  • Unexplained joint pain

  • Fatigue

  • Swelling and redness

  • Changes in your ability to concentrate

  • Numbness or tingling in your hands and feet

  • Rashes

  • Hair loss

Regardless of your diagnosis, autoimmune disease seems to be consistently marked by increased inflammation. This means that when a new autoimmune disease develops, symptoms can mimic a lot of other conditions, making these vague changes even more confusing.

How We Can Help

Chances are if you’re here, you’ve been struggling with how to manage your autoimmune disease for far too long. If you’ve had rounds of treatment that left you feeling severely unwell, have had to adjust your daily life because of significant pain or fatigue, or are concerned about when your next flare will happen, you’re in the right place. Our team is here to help you take the guesswork out of managing your autoimmune disease, and provide you with a customized and realistic support plan.

Common Autoimmune Diseases We See

There have been upwards of 80 different autoimmune diseases identified as the diagnosis is often specific to what tissue the immune system is attacking. However, some of the most commonly seen autoimmune diseases include:

  • Type 1 Diabetes

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

  • Psoriatic Arthritis / Psoriasis

  • Multiple Sclerosis

  • Lupus (SLE)

  • Irritable Bowel Disease

  • Grave’s Disease

  • Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

  • Celiac Disease

  • Pernicious Anemia

Whatever your diagnosis or symptoms may be, our team will meet you where you’re at and take the time to hear you, so you can start to feel in control and comfortable in your body again. Our clinic has a focus on immune and hormonal health, and are continually undergoing more training to ensure you’re getting the best care possible. Our ultimate goal is always to dig deeper and find the unique underlying causes of your immune system imbalances, so that lasting results are possible.
